2x05: Magical Bonding / Rescuing the Pixies
Another small edit back at Alfea.
Unedited: Livy arrives. The pixies disappeared while she was delivering a message to RF. Blah blah blah. Livy is happy to see Piff, and the other girls wonder if she'd have a heart attack to find Layla alive too.
Edited: Livy arrives. The pixies disappeared while she was sick in bed after bumping her head. Blah blah blah. Livy is happy to see Piff, and the other girls (having just mentioned Piff a few moments ago) think she's forgetful.
(NB: Also, 4Kids adds some cute singing from Tecna in the shower, mainly so that Mattel can produce a line of singing dolls, and somehow manage to ignore Musa as usual :-\)
For now, I question making Livy forgetful. How can such a forgetful pixie be a messenger, anyway? I can imagine, though, that it would be incredibly convenient to have Livy just forget that she's not supposed to return to the village, ever. Hint, hint!
Back with the other pixies...
Unedited: Chatta stops Lockette from telling LD where the pixie village is. Chatta tells Lockette that he needs them to find their village (and therefore wouldn't kill them, no matter how much he threatens).
Edited: Chatta gives LD extra directions to the village. Even though the picture shows her yelling at Lockette.
Okay, there's some rearrangement, but it's of minor importance.
Unedited: Layla swings to the pixies, transforms, tries her powers on it --> The witches show up and gloat --> Layla tries elbowing --> The witches attack
Edited: Layla swings to the pixies --> The witches show up --> Layla transforms and tries her powers on it --> The witches show up, gloat, and then attack --> [clip of LD and Kerbog from ep 2 discussing the Codex pieces, here they're finding out that Chatta's directions are no good] --> Layla tries elbowing --> More of the attack
Response:
TF: Livy being forgetful is just funny, just comic relief. Nothing really important.
I like Chatta giving the fakeout directions, too. She's a wily one.
Also another edit at the sandboarding scene with Bloom et al.:
Unedited: Bloom manages to stop right next to Sky and Layla, and quips to Sky "What was it you were saying about passion?" Bloom's board then slides down another sand-slide and she flies off. Meanwhile, Stella runs straight into a huge rock. As the rock cracks, Stella says, "This is ridiculous, Brandon better buy me a new dress to thank me for this." No kidding, Stella, you could have broken your neck. She's lucky that the rock is very brittle here, and as such makes it very perfect to use the Demoleculizer thing.
Edited: Bloom slides by Sky without stopping, and the shot of Bloom flying off her board is mirrored. Meanwhile, after Stella crashes into the rock, Sky says "I hate to tell you this, but these aren't rocks down here. They're petrified monster droppings. (...) It means there's tunnels nearby."
TF feedback from my review that mentioned this scene: I prefer the 4Kids monster cr@p Stella landing. Much funnier! And why would she expect Brandon to buy her a new dress? She's a F'ing princess. He's just a squire. Way to make your boyfriend waste his money, brat.
