Besides the yoooge nitpick of smartypants Flora and Musa doing pretty well in Shadowhaunt (when in an earlier episode, it was shown their powers would not work here), and no one getting their powers drained (which was quite a problem in said earlier episode), a few more edits.
But first, one from an earlier episode. 2x17, Mirta and the Winx are in Zara's class.
Unedited: The Winx protest to Zara against the class they've been "set up" for, after finding out from Mirta that this class is part of dark magic class.
Edited: The Winx are arguing with each other after being tricked into spelling themselves.
I said it before, and I'll say it again. Dub Zara is being REALLY DUMB for tricking the Winx into falling out with each other.
Now, over to the current episode. Tecna deals with monsters with her Charmix alone (the others want to conserve their Charmix to fight LD, at least in the original), and de-Charmixes.
Unedited: After the Specs catch up with Tecna, both Tecna and Timmy say they're going to track the others. Helia says there's no need, and points a paper crane, which flies off for the Specs to follow.
Edited: Helia now comments on Tecna and Timmy saying the same thing at the same time, and the shot of the flying paper crane is cut out.
Heeeere's Concorda! And remember those jewels?
Unedited: According to the Elders, FG told them to make back-ups of the Codex pieces, and they're the jewelry they're holding right now. Layla sees the puzzle and considers which of the other remaining fairies could solve the puzzle. "Maybe I should get Tecna and her computer, or maybe Musa, she's good at puzzles, or Flora..." As she's considering, Stella says, "Are these colors off or what?" and rearranges the pieces. ""It's just that the colors were clashing, so I moved them around a little bit and..." It turns out to be the solution to the puzzle: Athena: "It's a complex color spectrum analysis problem. No one's ever solved it so fast before." Stel: "See? Fashion sense is a vital skill after all! :)"
Edited: The jewels are referred to as ancient artifacts. Layla sees the puzzle, and Stella brings up a field trip to a museum, and there's something about a civilization that communicated with colors. She rearranges the pieces into the solution: "Stella is quite fluent in hue..." "Maybe Palladium should reconsider my grade :)"
The only part that makes 100% sense in either version is, yes, Stella loves fashion, so she should know what colors go with what. But when I read about this for the edited version, it felt like an asspull to me, because the whole discussion about the field trip just came up out of nowhere. Now, I'm betting someone will say something about how the original version is even more of an asspull, since Stella essentially just stumbled on the solution. (And I would agree, but at least they don't pretend that Stella knows what's she's doing...)
And I'm still of the opinion that the target audience wouldn't have remembered the jewels from WAAAAAAY back, without the flashback in 2x20.
Speaking of flashbacks...
Unedited: There is a brief flashback to last season's finale during the Realix scene.
Edited: There ISN'T. Doesn't that kinda defeat the point of the scene?
Last edit of the season!
Unedited: The last shot of the season is Bloom and Sky running in front of Timmy's camera as it goes off.
Edited: This goes on with Blinky hovering in front of the camera, and then Mirta and Lucy being dragged in front of the camera.
