spiderbraids1x07: Friends in Need / Grounded
This was a relatively short one...
So, the Trix have just attacked Lucy. Here comes Ms. Griffin...
Unedited: She announces that there will be no entertainment period this evening. Having known about the concert (the one the Griz won't let the Winx go to), Icy decides to trash Alfea toavenge get even with the Winx for trespassing. (They then later decide to search for the Dragonfire because Icy has a suspicion...)
Edited: She announces that the concert has pushed their benefit to a different venue. Hearing about the concert, Icy decides to go over to Alfea to look for the Dragonfire.
(NB: To clarify, Grif never mentions the concert in the unedited, but Icy apparently knows about it already)
We fast forward to the end for the other edit:
Unedited: FG thinks of the Winx, and says to herself... "Tomorrow, the roses will bloom. Who knows? One day you might also blossom."
Edited: FG thinks about the Dragonfire.
(NB: *checks Fandom for the actual lines* "The Dragon Fire power is just a myth ...Or is it? Well, the witches said it was right here in this room but I know it's not in the Solaria Ring. Is it possible they're right. And if they are... How did it get here, and who's got it?")

chrismactaggart, correcting my use of the word "avenge": I think you used the wrong word for starters, why would Icy be avenging the Winx? Because the dictionary states that avenge means: 1. To inflict a punishment or penalty in return for; revenge: avenge a murder. 2. To take vengeance on behalf of: avenged their wronged parents. 3. take revenge for a perceived wrong; "He wants to avenge the murder of his brother
It should be "Icy decides to trash Alfea to get even with the Winx for trespassing"

mg_winxclub (aka Michael Grant), complaining about these posts and correcting my choice of words: The obsession continues I see. Agree with you tanz_fanatika, to have to point out minor edits like this of 2-5 seconds are just boring. Won't cry over this one either. We (USA) have less air time than Europe. Something has to be cut. chrismactaggart is also correct on the avenge part too.
(NB: This might look a bit like overreacting, but in the original post, I also pointed out a minor snip from the classroom scene at the start of 1x03: the last shot in the original is a close-up of Bloom smirking at WizGiz after he says, "If at first you don't succeed, try again." In your version, it ends with a shot of Bloom and WizGiz, as the latter says, "Bloom, it's a little early to fall behind. You have a lot of homework to do!" So yeah, I miiight have been a bit obsessed with the whole 4K cuts thing ;-))

(NB: Well, I would have preferred her to give me reasons why she thought the 4Kids version was better, because just saying "edits are better" without giving explanations wasn't going to get anywhere with me... At least TF gave explanations, even if I didn't always agree with them)
tanz_fanatika, actually saying something about the edits: I see no difference between Icy knowing and Icy finding out from Griffin. What difference does it make? None.
(NB: "What difference does it make? None." Sounds more like a good excuse not to make changes to me, though ironically I'd understand making this change, so that it doesn't look like Icy pulls the knowledge of the concert out of her backside; I actually expected that she'd appreciate it like Fake!Sky getting punished for losing the troll in 2x05)
Another edit that I was told about: After Musa jumps on the minotaur's head, the original has Musa getting hit by the minotaur and flying down the hallway, before showing that Riven has caught her, while the 4Kids version cuts the scene out, so it just goes straight from Musa jumping the minotaur to the Specialists showing up
