Somehow, there've been enough EPG fails in 2024 to warrant a 4th post of these...

You'd think that the people running TrueVisions' EPG would know better than to blindly copy the description from one incarnation of a show to another without checking if it's an episode-specific one, and yet to paraphrase a certain meme, it's weird that it happened twice... Last time, the synopsis for a specific episode of The Fairly Oddparents got copied over to a short-lived live action redo on Nick Asia (channel got removed before they could show A New Wish); this time, the CG redo of Dora the Explorer gets the synopsis from its previous incarnation:
EPG entry for the first episode of the CG redo of Dora the Explorer, with episode-specific synopsis taken from the original non-CG version: 'Dora and friends are about to put on a pirate play when the Pirate Piggies steal their treasure chest and costumes :: KIDS'
Scene from the CG version of Dora the Explorer, with above synopsis shown at the bottom

I previously reported that an in-house movie channel got a synopsis for Jingle All the Way from the animated Hallmark special of the same name, but put the correct cast listing... Well, they still haven't fixed it :-\
EPG synopsis for Jingle All the Way reading: 'A spirited Husky puppy is looking for a home at Christmas and he receives a little help from a big man in a red suit :: COMEDY Cast: Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sinbad, Phil Hartm[an]'

The award for the most-useless EPG movie synopsis ever goes to this one for Sony's shunted-to-streaming animated musical Vivo, from one of the in-house channels:
Vivo the monkey and his pink-haired human companion, with EPG synopsis on screen reading 'An epic adventure to gorgeous and vibrant locations - never before seen in animation', from August 2024

BTW, if you're thinking that this would set a precedent for them to air their other similar-fated animated features... well, they aired those films in the following months, with proper descriptions as well :-)
Katie's mom and the family dog in Mitchells vs the Machines, with proper description in the on screen EPG, from September 2024
Johnathan and Dracula in Hotel Transylvania: Transformania, also with proper description in the on screen EPG, from October 2024

It's also weird that once again, TrueVisions' EPG has confused two thrillers of the same title both set on an airplane... As previously mentioned in my recaps for TAR, local broadcaster for the show aired an ITV drama called Red Eye, but put up the synopsis and cast from the (arguably more fitting for this network) mid-2000's Wes Craven film of the same name... That is Richard Armitage in the inset trying to maintain his innocence in the ITV drama, whereas Cillian Murphy is a more straightforward villain in the Wes Craven film:
Richard Armitage in the ITV drama Red Eye, accompanied with the synopsis from Wes Craven's film in the EPG: 'The desk manager of a Miami hotel finds herself a pawn in a terrorist attack when she is abduced from an early-morning flight :: THRILLER Cast: Rachel McAdams, Cillian Murphy'

And instead of Rachel McAdams as a hotel manager, we have Jing "Crazy Rich Asians" Lusi as the cop escorting Richard:
Jing 'Crazy Rich Asians' Lusi in the ITV drama Red Eye, with Wes Craven description in the on-screen EPG; also note the 'New: Red Eye' text next to the network ID

And not about EPG descriptions, and not captured in photos: In Richard Donner's period/time-travel flick Timeline, there's some French dialog from French soldiers, which is of course subtitled in English... Except that when it was aired on one of our channels here, I squinted and saw that the subtitles... were Italian (!) I was like: "Hang on, that's Italian" and dad, who was watching the film be like: "No, that's French", and I had to clarify that it was the subtitles I was talking about :-\
