Oscar: Not being a good sport to YouTube
Mar. 1st, 2007 09:31 amA few days ago, I complained about how lots of YouTubers ILLEGALLY post whole episodes of their favorites shows (yeah, Winx is there, too). Technically, short clips are also iffy, but I can understand putting those up.
Which brings me to the whole dealie with the Academy deciding to tell YouTube to take down the short Oscar clips everyone's put up, making viewers go to the Oscar.com site for a highlight reel, consisting entirely of acceptance speech moments. Guess what? No one's watching acceptance speeches (except maybe Scorsese's). They're all going to watch Ellen's monologues, the Dreamgirls songs, and Ferell/Black/Reilly's song.
Why can't Oscar just step up themselves and start their own channel so we can see what we want? It wouldn't hurt...
( A little extra after the cut. )
