Well, just got to get these out of the way...

TAR Asia:

2x03:
1. First of two episodes in New Zealand (although I heard that there was a brief segment with counting money at sponsor Standard Chartered Bank in Hong Kong, which must have been real short since I tuned in about 15 minutes in and they were already in NZ), and the first of the tasks is something involving photographing things at some historical park with a Sony Cybershot (hello, more product placement!). Brett and Kinar (Indonesia) did quite terrible on this task, but they weren't the only ones who had major trouble this leg.
2. After the photographing was a Roadblock: bungee jumping off Auckland Harbor Bridge, which is a rerun of a TAR US task. Rovilson noted that NZ has lots of interesting ways to kill yourself, like jumping off a bridge.
3. Detour, choices: Rock climbing, or rowing some local boat and collecting flags. Rock climbing was the harder one, with a few teams switching from the rock to the boat. Not that the boating was trouble free, since there were some flip overs.
4. After the Detour, teams had to drive themselves to a Matakana (got it in one) hospital turned haunted house, and this is where the real fun begins. Vanessa and Pamela got into a car accident that caused them to bleed quite some time while the police straightened things out. Sophie and Aurelia drove like 200 km. in the wrong direction to a different Matakana (there are apparently two of them in NZ). Whoops. Back over the Harbour bridge, they noted the irony of them passing over the bridge they'd jumped off that morning. Quote gold: "Could you be quiet for an hour?"
5. Haunted house. If the footage is any indication, it doesn't look like it would scare me... Some contestants even took the haunted house in stride. Eventually, all the teams bar one finished, once again led by Marc and Rovilson. They get a year's worth of gas, a la TARFE, and all they need is a car :-D
6. As for the other one, Brett and Kinar spent too much time with the rock climb, and the boats were closed for the day by the time they got there, so production told them to drive to Matakana (the right Matakana, of course :-) ) and get eliminated.

2x04:
1. Still in New Zealand. First stop, a Caltex. Yeah, product placement, whatever.
2. Water-related tasks on the menu with water sledging and then driving a speedboat. Meanwhile, Sophie and Aurelia were just starting the leg 7 hours behind everyone else.
3. And then, on to NON-water tasks. Roadblock is getting a stick out of mud at Hell's Hole. Sort of a rehash of a TAR US task.
4. Detour at some cultural center. Throw sticks or make a headband. Both were pretty hard.
5. Marc and Rovilson pretending to get lost before "spotting" the mat and jumping on. Eh. 1st again.
6. Sophie and Aurelia were so far behind, they didn't even get shown doing any of the tasks, just them coming up to the cultural center, finding it closed, and Allan Wu coming up to them and telling them they got eliminated.

2x05:
1. Finally out of New Zealand, and we're heading to Japan, where some teams had trouble even getting their first clue in Chiba park. I've been told that it's because their taxi drivers dropped them off the wrong spot.
2. Said clue called for contestants to guide a rickshaw to the Sony building. Yep, time for another product placement task!
3. And it's another "Film some local singing a local song with a Sony Handycam" task. Marc and Rovilson had some trouble finding someone Japanese in Tokyo (seriously, they kept running into tourists), and after finally getting someone, quipped about not understanding the lyrics at all, and then about getting a Grammy from their recording. Comic relief, much? Meanwhile, at least two teams found that their camera didn't record the singing. Sounds like Sony camcorders are user-unfriendly?
4. Next is taking a Sony Cybershot with a picture of a cosplay maid on it, and find a cosplay maid at Mark City. Terri and Henry got really frustrated at just finding Mark City in the first place. Go figure.
5. Detour: Catch fish with a paper paddle or deliver a kimono around some confusing streets. Not much to talk of in the detour, except that one team actually had to follow a Domino's guy to get where they wanted.
6. Roadblock is for the cool and calculating: go to Icebar Tokyo, and arrange BIG ice cubes with letters on the blocks into the name of a city. There were many possible combinations. I saw Kyoto, Kobe, Hiroshima, even Tokyo. The Marc/Rovilson team spelled "Nagasaki" twice (and quipped that he couldn't spell "Vegas"). Certain teams even put together the cubes randomly into names that definitely aren't cities in Japan. Henry simply copied Vanessa/Pamela's answer (granted, she did flip one of their cubes over, rather unintentionally, before that happened, but like that would have stumped him).
7. Eventually, the correct answer was Fukuoka. Which is where the next clue told them to go, by taking the Shinkansen bullet train, before checking in at some government office. Since it was night time when everyone was doing their tasks, it practically ensured that all the teams would get on the morning train. I was all, "Seriously, are you kidding me? A bunching train trip right before a pit stop? This better be non-elimination." Turned out it was not even an actual pit-stop, as Ann and Dianne were the first to find out. Meanwhile, Marc and Rovilson pretended to be fooled by each other's disguises. Yeah, whatever.

TAR US, 12x06:
1. Next stop is Dubrovnik, Croatia, with some ticketing troubles. Azaria and Hendekea got the wrong kind of tickets (they get business class tickets, and they were supposed to get economy) and wound up on a flight later than everyone else, but took solace that the flight TK/Rachel and Nick/Don took was delayed. In fact, it was so delayed, their connecting plane wasn't even there by the time they arrived. They ended up taking separate flights to Dubrovnik.
2. It should be noted that about a month before CBS even started promoting the new season, my usual message board reported on the leg run in Dubrovnik in detail, filmed in mid-July, complete with a link to photos.
3. First was the roadblock, involving putting stones into gaps in a wall. Something about reconstructing the walls after the war.
4. And then, zipline to the Detour! Detour was a choice between Short and Long: climbing ladders at a fort and making your way clear across town to the next clue, or Long and Short: taking ANOTHER zipline into the water, rowing around the fort, and taking a short walk from the harbor to the next clue. According to Kynt, Vyxsin has a military dad, so they took the fort storming.
5. Next clue is the pitstop at some huge cross overlooking the city. Jennifer and Nathan couldn't get a cab because they got wet (seriously?), so they hitchhiked to the cross (SERIOUSLY?) They were 2nd behind Real Truth Flavor (thank you, my usual board) Ron and Christina, and even then, they had to head back to the previous clue and take a real cab from there, so they ended up third behind the really likeable Goths.
6. Finishers were greeted with the firing of some kind of gun, and it managed to scare Jennifer the 2nd time around. Heh. Meanwhile, Azaria and Hendekea were still eliminated in last place despite the other teams' flight delay.

TAR US took a week off for the Survivor finale this week. They'll be back on Sunday (or rather, Monday where I live).
