Winx Club: Revenge of the Trix (part 2)

spiderbraidsWe move forward to episode 15 as we fade in on Faragonda in her room, as Bloom comes in. FG: "I've been thinking about what happened at the library before spring break." Bloom gasps as FG continues: "I know that you are searching for Daphne." Bloom: "Daphne... Yes." FG: "Daphne is one of the Supreme Nymphs of Magix. After careful thought, Bloom, I have decided to show you as much as I know about her. Come."
Bloom finds herself underwater in a lake with FG. FG: "Daphne lived here, in the depths of Lake Rocalucce." We see a fish swimming through Bloom, which weirds her out. FG: "Come." They phase into a cave. FG: "Go ahead, Bloom. Don't be afraid." She walks toward a really bright light. The light shimmers very brightly, and Daphne materializes, along with a chest. Daphne opens the chest to reveal a crown, and she hands the chest over to Bloom, as Bloom and FG's little trip comes to an end. FG is pretty tired and Bloom seems a bit concerned. FG: "Bloom, I've shown you what I know about Daphne. I hope it is enough." Bloom: "But, I want to know more." FG: "I understand, but I fear what you're doing may be dangerous. You must end your search now."
Redundant VO: "Meanwhile, at Cloud Tower..." We've backtracked again, this time to episode 7. A dark-red-haired girl in a pumpkin shirt and a dark-green-haired girl are having lunch (or whatever meal it's time for), as she overhears the Trix. Stormy: "Let's just blast her. We can't stop now." Darcy: "Bloom is the most powerful fairy in the magic dimension." Icy: "I know sisters, but we need to proceed carefully. Oh, we can't just destroy her, that would be wasteful." Red-head decides to speak up: "Why are you always plotting against them? The fairies aren't that bad..." Icy: "I'm sorry, were you actually speaking to me?" Red: "I only want to say, I think we should all try to get along..." Stormy: "That's sweet." And we all know how much witches hate sweet things. Stormy begins to laugh, and soon, every other table at the cafeteria is laughing at her.
Fade to dorm room, and we go forward again, to episode 14. Green: "Mirta, what's wrong with you? Why do you say those crazy things?" Mirta: "But Lucy..." Lucy: "All of Cloud Tower was laughing at you. It's just so embarrassing." Mirta: "It's the Trix. They're so mean!" Lucy: "I like the Trix. I want to be just like them... and not like you." With that, Lucy walks off.
Mirta goes outside in the strong winds to a big helipad-like area. "Those terrible Trix, they're making Lucy just like them! I've got to do something. Lucy and I have been friends forever. I won't let the Trix ruin it! I've got powers too!" And with her powers and a vaguely Latin-sounding spell, Mirta takes a look at the Trix. Icy: "Sisters, I have got a plan. We're going to trick Bloom, we'll make her think she's a witch, and when she's all alone crying, we'll rip the power right out of her!" Mirta: "Oh no, this is terrible! I've got to find that girl! The Trix have turned Lucy against me. I'll pay them in kind: I'll warn Bloom and expose them as the liars they are!" Good luck Mirta, you'll need it.
Downtown Magix. We've skipped Bloom's obstacle course exam (and Mirta's class, incidentally), to Sky talking to Bloom about what he's been doing, over ice-cream at an open cafe. Sky: "Bloom... you're not listening. What's wrong?" Bloom: "So, I was just thinking about what Faragonda said to me. I know I shouldn't feel this way, but, everything's changed. I don't even know who I am anymore. I just have so many questions." Sky: "Let's see if I can find some answers." Bloom: "You know, I've been trying to find out about Daphne, who she is, how related..." Sky: "And Faragonda told you to stop looking." Bloom: "If I can't use our library, I thought I could look in the magic archive... at Cloud Tower." Sky: "You wanna break into Cloud Tower? (nonchalantly) Okay, I'll help you." Bloom: "It's kinda crazy..." Sky: "Hey, what are friends for? :-)"
RF dorm, and Timmy and Sky are talking about the magic archives. Timmy: "The magic archive? It's one of the greatest collections of magical books in the magic dimension." Sky: "Bloom's determined, so... what do we look for?" Timmy is looking at a bunch of manuscripts with ancient-looking lettering on them: "Well, there's a book there that'll answer any question. You just have to ask." Sky: "That sounds right." Brandon: "Yeah, but breaking into Cloud Tower is still completely crazy." Sky: "Listen Brandon. I told Bloom I'd help her, and I'll do it." Brandon: "Whatever Sky, it's up to you. Just don't say I didn't warn you." Timmy hands over a manuscript: "I can show you how to find that book."
Remember Darcy casting her spell on Riven? Riven overhears the whole conversation and decides: "Well, well... I know someone who will be pleased to know this :-D" One guess as to who he's talking about. "I've got some news for you." "Oh, goody." Anyways, this is how the Trix come up with that plan to trick Bloom in the first place, so... yeah.
That night, Sky and Bloom ride across the lake and through the woods to CT. We skip Sky's fancy bikework to evade CT's defenses and just show them landing before cutting to them inside. Bloom: "So, Timmy says there's one book in particular we should try to find?" Sky is holding a mapping device: "Yup, and it looks like we're headed in the right direction." Sky's mapping device is emitting continuous beeps. Bloom: "Thanks for coming with me Sky."
Bloom and Sky come to a large door. Bloom: "This must be it." Sky: "Bloom, think about it. Are you sure you want to do this?" Bloom: "I have to find out who I am, Sky." They go inside what looks like a badly-lit library. Bloom: "This place must be enormous. I'm not sure where to start." Sky: "Timmy said we'd know it when we see it." Sky comes across a glowing book on a pedestal: "So I say this must be it: The book that answers whatever you ask." We see a page that would seemingly look right at home in Da Vinci's manuscripts. Bloom puts her hand on the page: "Okay, then, let's give it a try. I want to know who I really am." It shows her pictures of cackling old hags in black robes (a more stereotypical image of a witch, minus the hat and broom) and a glowing baby. It tells her: "You are a witch!" (The book showed her the pictures in the original without any voiceover, but 4Kids added one to their version.)
Bloom: "Oh! Sky!" Sky: "What is it, what did you see Bloom?" Bloom: "I saw 3 ancient witches, and they told me that... that I'm like them! (Sky: 8-O) That I am a witch!" Sky steps back: "You're a witch? Oh no!" Bloom: "Sky, does it make that much of a difference to you?" Sky seems indifferent. Bloom: "Sky? Oh.. Sky... I see. I shouldn't have asked, but now I know. I am a witch." Sky: "I'll take you to Alfea, Bloom." Bloom: "No Sky, I can get back on my own. Please go."
The next morning at Alfea. Stella: "Am I that late?" Flo: "That's not why I'm here. I'm so worried. Bloom is missing, she never came back last night." Stella: "Really?" Tec and Musa come in. Tec: "Well, we looked high and low, and Bloom is just nowhere to be found." Musa: "We have to go look for her girls. Now!"
In the forest, Bloom wakes up in a pile of leaves: "Morning already?" Bloom dusts herself off: "And nowhere near Alfea. Guess I'd better get in gear..." It should be noted that unlike in the original, Kiko is nowhere to be found here (thus taking care of one of 4Kids' dub-induced mistakes). Mirta is walking through another part of the forest: "According to my emo-images (Me: :-D) I shouldn't be too far." Mirta stops briefly: "I felt something: Maybe it's her." Mirta peeks behind a tree. Bloom: "Hey, who's hiding there? Who are you?" Mirta: "Hi. I'm... I'm Mirta." Bloom: "Hi, my name is Bloom." Mirta: "I know." Bloom: "You do?" Mirta: "I've been looking for you. There's something very important you need to know: The Trix are trying to trick you!"
Speaking of the Trix, we see them also walking through the forest, with Stormy randomly setting a plant on fire :-) Darcy: "Stop showing off Stormy. You keep on like that, you'll set the forest on fire." Icy: "Sisters, we are here to find Bloom. Let's just try and stick with the program, shall we?" Others: "Sorry Icy."
Just outside Alfea. Tec: "Okay Winx, we have to find Bloom, and fast." Flora: "And the only way to do that is to use our powers." Others: "Right!" Everyone: "Magic Winx!" Now that's more like it :-) A minute or so of fancy transformations later... Stella: "Winx, let's get to it. And... which way did she go?" Flora: "Well, something has seen Bloom walk right through here. And we're standing right on it." Musa: "You mean, the grass?" Flo: "Super pollen!" The others smile in awe as the pollen draws an arrow on the grass. For Flo, it's as if thesewallsfields could talk. Nifty, eh?
This segment has a new minor nitpicks, but nothing to really spoil the enjoyment for the newcomer. Voices for Lucy and Mirta seem fine.
