Winx Club: Revenge of the Trix (Part 3)
Tec looks at the arrow Flo has drawn in the grass with her pollen: "Look everyone, Bloom went that way!" Flo: "Grassy fields have an excellent memory :-)" Musa: "We need to pinpoint her location. Ultrasonic probe!" It should be noted that the spells here have much fancier effects than in the original, but that's to be somewhat expected. Anyways, Musa finishes her scan, and passes the scan to Tecna. Tecna: "Commencing data analysis." Tecna analyses the data, and projects an image of the forest from her hand: "Alright, got it. The probe detected a fairy life form in Gloomy Wood, right here." Stella: "Great, that means I get to do my favorite thing: light the place up. Rising sun!" Stella glows brightly: "You guys, now that I've brightened things up, let's go! Even with my powers we don't have all day. Come on!" And so the girls follow the glowing Stella.
Back with Bloom and Mirta. Mirta: "The Trix want to make you believe you are a witch Bloom." Bloom: "Oh man. So, I'm not a witch. They tricked me. Ugh, why would they be so cruel?" Icy comes in: "Why would we be so cruel? Well you know, for giggles :-D" Once again, we get some randomly-placed exposition: "Bloom, I see you're hanging with Mirta, the little witch who transforms emotions into images... That's good, 'cause nobody else wants to :-D" Bloom: "You horrible Trix! You're mean!" Icy: "Mean? Nonono, we're evil :-D You've interfered with my plans Mirta, I don't like that." with that, Bloom and Mirta get cased in ice. "How sweet. Now let's get down there girls and rip the power right out of little Bloom's heart."
Here come the other Winx. Stella: "Leave them alone!" Stella zaps away the ice to free Mirta and Bloom. Stormy goes after the other fairies with two big tornadoes, and some sort of rope wrap. Bloom: "Bloom! Magic Winx! Charmix!" Nick, just stick with one name, okay? Anyways, her transformation is pointless because Stormy knocks her to the ground. Mirta: "STOP IT!" She conjures a monster, or rather an image thereof, to roar at the Trix, causing Stormy's tornadoes to disappear and her rope wrap to fall off the Winx. Stormy: "She broke my concentration." Icy: "That was not smart. I've had it with you Mirta, you're a pain in the neck. You are an interfering little... little, uh..." Icy takes a good look at her shirt: "...little... pumpkin? Why not?" Why not indeed, as Icy turns Mirta into a pumpkin like that on her shirt. Bloom is utterly horrified, and we see her release her dragon power. The others are with PumpkinMirta. Stella: "What happened?" Flo: "Where's Bloom?" Tec: "She disappeared." Stella: "Ugh, not again!" Bloom raises her hand from behind a bush: "Hey, I'm over here!" Others: "Bloom!" Bloom: "Hey guys." Tec: "You really took care of the Trix." Bloom: "I guess so, but look at what they did to Mirta..." Flo walks over to PumpkinMirta: "Icy's spell was black magic, but I'll try to help her. Let's get her back to Alfea."
Back to Alfea, and going forward to episode 15 again. In the dorm, Kiko is gnawing on Bloom's pencil quite loudly. Bloom: "I just can't seem to focus at all." Well, with Kiko gnawing on your pencil, I'd say so. "I keep thinking about Sky, and what happened at Cloud Tower. He hasn't called me since." Bloom takes the pencil from Kiko and pets him on the head. Kiko points at Bloom's cell phone and makes a phone calling gesture. Bloom looks at the phone: "You're saying I should call him?" She decides to call, but it appears that Sky's left his phone on his bed. "What's the point? He thinks I'm a witch. It's no wonder he's not picking up. Kiko, you gave me bad advice!" Kiko is all, "Uh, wha?"
Redundant VO: "Meanwhile, at Red Fountain..." Moving forward to episode 17, we see a bunch of Specialists riding their bikes. Then we see Riven and Sky sword-fighting, with Sky knocking Riven's sword out of his hands. Riven: "I'll get you for that Sky!" Back to the bikes briefly, before showing an old guy with a staff and some rather muscular guy. Old guy: "All is going well Codatorta." Codatorta: "It'll be a great show Saladin." Saladin: "I have high hopes for your dragons exhibition." Codatorta: "My boys and I will astound everyone." Sal: "Red Fountain School must show itself to advantage. I've invited some very important people."
At the RF dorm. Sky on his phone: "Bloom? It's Sky. Sorry that I haven't called you. I've been kind of busy. I've been training for the exhibition." Bloom at Alfea: "That's okay, I just wanted to explain about the other night. I found out I'm not a witch. It was just some stupid trick." Sky: "Huh?... Oh. Well, that's a relief." Bloom: "Yeah, but it seems the Trix are out to get me, and I don't even know why. I really need to talk to you." Sky walks up to his table, which has a photo on it, but not of Bloom... Bloom: "Can we meet up? Maybe at the exhibition?" Sky seems uncomfortable: "The exhibition?" Bloom: "Yeah, what do you think?" Sky: "Uh... I'm sorry Bloom, it's only for VIPs. I gotta go, bye." Sky hangs up: "Aw man..."
Sky is talking with Timmy: "Timmy, I'm in big trouble." Timmy: "What do you mean?" Sky: "About Bloom and Diaspro, the princess I'm supposed to marry, but... I'm in love with Bloom." Timmy: "Oh. Well, I'm sure there's a solution to this. Lemme think... Diaspro is going to be here today, right?" Sky: "So?" Timmy: "So, give her the facts. Tell her everything." Sky: "You want me to do what?" Timmy: "Tell her you love somebody else. Tell her you love Bloom." Good luck with that, Sky...
Back at the Alfea dorm, the dorm TV shows a picture of Domino (well, the simulator version thereof) while Tec uses her computer and Musa plays a flute, reading sheet music from a floating pedestal. The other Winx barge in. Bloom: "I don't care!" Flo: "But it's crazy." Stella: "Oh Bloom, come on!" Flo: "Be reasonable!" Tec: "What is going on?" Stella: "Bloom wants to go to the boys' exhibition at Red Fountain." Musa: "Did she get an invitation?" Flo: "She so did not, that's the problem." Tec: "But Bloom, you can't." Flo: "That's what I said." Bloom: "But I really need to talk to Sky, face-to-face." Stella: "Because... you like him?" Bloom: "No Stella, we're just friends." Stella: "Well in that case, I don't see any reason to do anything crazy." Bloom: "Stella, I do like him, but I don't know what he thinks. I just really need to talk to him. Today." Flo: "Okay Bloom, we'll help you get in. ;-D"
RF. RF guy: "Hey girls! What do you think you're doing here?!" Bloom: "Uh, nothing, just hanging out... RUN!" RF guy: "Hey! Wait! Where are you going?!" Bloom runs into an open door while the others continue on. RF guy: "Oh great, I lost them! Bunch of juvenile delinquents..."
Bloom encounters a king and queen and their bodyguards: "Uh... excuse me..." After passing them: "Maybe this wasn't such a good idea... HUH?" Bloom sees someone dragging Sky. Sky: "Diaspro, wait..." Bloom: "Who's that?"
We get a good look at Diaspro, a girl with light-blonde hair with orange eyes in a robe with a red and white outfit underneath, and most importantly, the girl in Sky's photo. Diaspro: "Sky... Oh, Sky. Be serious." Sky: "Diaspro, I am." Bloom peeks around the door. Diaspro: "I know that you love me. After all, you are my boyfriend." Sky, exasperated: "Diaspro..." Bloom: "Her boyfriend??? It's another trick. Those horrible witches... they're doing it to me again!"
Stadium at RF, where we see Specialists riding their bikes, as the crowd goes wild, and there are balloons being released. One bike heads straight towards two bikes running side-by-side, forcing them to evade the incoming bike, causing one of them to crash. Brandon: "Sky! Is everything okay? Are you hurt?" Sky: "No, just a few bruises." Brandon: "Mmm, I've had it with Riven..." Riven: "Hehheh... Whatever!"
Timmy: "Hey guys, this is not the time. We've got to do the dragon show." We see 3 dragons coming out, one with red wings, another with orange wings, and another with blue wings. Meanwhile, Bloom is confronting Diaspro: "I am not falling for it again. What do you want?" Di: "What... are you talking about?" Bloom: "Well, this time, I fight back! Bloom! Magic Winx! Charmix!" One transformation later, Di: "I don't know what your problem is, but if it's a fight you want..." Di takes off her robe: "Diaspro Princess!" We get a shorter and slightly spruced-up transformation for Di. Di throws a magical hoop on Bloom: "You asked for it!" Bloom flies up into the air and breaks the hoop: "That's it!" Bloom throws a fireball at Di, who blocks it with a shield. Di: "That goes for you, you lunatic!" Di summons six jewel thingies floating around her, and keeps firing at Bloom. Bloom counters with a fireball to pin Di to the wall. Di channels Homer Simpson: "You little...!"
Dragon show, with dragons flying around the Specialists. Riven: "No hard feelings about the incident earlier, right?" Sky takes out a boomerang: "Now that you mention it..." Sky flings it out and knocks Riven out into the open area, and the red-winged dragon falls on the ground. Sky: "...none whatsoever." It appears that the Specialists mentally control the dragons. Riven sends his towards Sky, and Sky basically has his dragon counter Riven's.
Coda: "Those fools... this is a dragon show, not a dragon battle." Coda gets on an orange-winged dragon and flings his magical glowing whip at Sky and Riven's dragons. As if that wasn't enough, Coda suddenly notices the ground opening: "What's that?" Coming out of the ground are Bloom and Diaspro. Bloom: "So, have you had enough?" Di: "Why, have you?" Di fires a few more shots. Bloom blocks them with her shield, and then takes out Di's jewel thingies. Di: "You are crazy!" Bloom knocks Di out.
Sky runs to her aid: "Diaspro!" Bloom: "Oh no!" Di goes up to Sky: "Oh Sky..." Bloom: "Sky?" Di: "What is the matter with you?! This is the man I'm going to marry!" Sky: "Hey! Wait! Bloom, I..." Cut to the bleachers, where Saladin, FG and Griffin (CT's principal, tall, slender, dark red outfit, purple hair) are watching the fracas. Sal: "Isn't she one of your students Faragonda?" FG adjusts her specs: "Yes she is." Sal does a tut-tut by slamming the end of his staff on the ground. "She has ruined my exhibition!" FG: "Please forgive me Saladin..." Griffin gets her first line in these specials: "Well, I see it's not just my students who can behave badly." The king Bloom saw earlier: "This is ridiculous... I take my leave!" He leaves with his queen and bodyguards, as we get a nice spin-shot of Bloom feeling quite humiliated.
Voice-wise, Saladin and Coda's voices are okay, and if Ariana was trying to make Diaspro come across as catty, I'd say she succeeded. However, based on her one line, Griffin's voice seems a bit soft for the principal of a witches' school.
Story-wise, I've seen quite a few comments on how Bloom's attack on Diaspro makes more sense than before. Much of this can be attributed to the fact that this is more or less how the original script did it, the only difference being that the original Di merely carried around a photo of Sky.
Next: Back to Gardenia again.
