Another weekend morning, another dose of Winx.

And another road trip. Nice looking road signs.

Here's a juxtapositioning of a traditional and modern windmill, off A2 near Zouterwoude.

Our destination today, Zaanse Schaans, basically one big town devoted to Dutch culture, like windmills...

...and clogs...

complete with a demonstation of how clogs are made. (I actually took a sliver of wood from the clog-making as a souvenir, and still keep it in my drawer [!])
(2020 extra thoughts: *checks drawer* Yup, still there :-))

A nice view of the windmills. Okay, so it was drizzling that day, but this isn't the worst weather we had on the vacation...

And a close-up of one of the windmills.

No photos of lunch, but here is where we had some "belegde broodje" sandwiches.
(2020 extra thoughts: Replaced sometime between July 2014 and June 2015)

Coffee anyone? :-) This is actually part of the Albert Heijn museum. Heijn opened his first supermarket in Oostzaan, and it's now one of the Netherlands' major supermarket chains.

Two goats hiding in a shelter from the rain, at a cheese factory. There was a pithy sign reminding tourists not to feed the goats.

There was also a demonstration of cheese-making at the factory, and we bought some smoked cheese there. Mmm...
(2020 extra thoughts: And whenever my sis comes over to visit, I always get her to buy some smoked cheese :-))

And lastly, this weird abstract-looking statue near the parking lot.

We returned to Rotterdam after our visit, and here's a nice sunset photo... at around 9:30pm.
