Here's a photo of the bike routes around Rotterdam, similar to the one from Kinderdijk.
Some guys riding horses. In the middle of the city. Yeah, I don't get it either.
We spent much of the morning shopping at the V&D department store (sounds contagious, but like C&A, it stands for its founders), and had lunch at their La Place restaurant. (Note the Dutch sandwich in the frontmost tray [mine].)
(2020 extra thoughts: V&D has since gone bankrupt and had its branches bought up by Canadian retailers Hudson's Bay, which then also went bankrupt in the Netherlands, so now local fashion store De Koopman is temporarily operating in that building, as of just a few weeks ago)
We then spent the afternoon in the Lijnbaan shopping area. (This photo is actually from the next day.)
Later that afternoon, it rained heavily while we were buying ourselves some noodle take out for dinner. So yeah, that's pretty much it.
