Grif has just arrived.
Unedited: FG gives Grif a formal welcome to Alfea.
(NB: Lemme grab the actual lines from Fandom...
Faragonda: Welcome to Alfea, Griffin. I see that your students have followed you.
Griffin: Yes, but it is thanks to your students that we were able to escape from the clutches of those three power-crazed witches.
Faragonda: Well, you're here now. You can fill me in on the details later. Meanwhile, we'll do all we can to help you.
Griffin: Seems to me that you're also in need of help.
Faragonda: Yes, and it seems to me that I've just found the person who can help us.)
Edited: FG and Grif have small talk. They both remember a time when Griffin turned a sorority at Alfea into goats, and she left seven inches tall in a jar.
(NB:
Faragonda: How long has it been since you set foot on the Alfea campus, Griffin?
Griffin: We were juniors, and Ediltrude and I were sneaking onto campus to turn the Kai Fly Sorority into goats.
Faragonda: Ah yes, if memory serves me, I believe you left our campus seven inches tall, in a jar.
Griffin: Those were happier times, weren't they?
Faragonda: With all of us banding together perhaps those happier times can return.

tanz_fanatika will probably defend the whole character depth thing she said in the Royal Heartbreak spotlight.
(NB: I saw the original lines as poignant, and the 4Kids lines as them goofing off again a la Royal Heartbreak... and TF liked the changes there)
Minor edit: Daphne doesn't start calling Bloom until she wakes up the next day. Not while she's walking through the forest.

Unedited: Everyone is a bit worried about Bloom and Sky, and how the DF has been stolen.

Faragonda: Griffin, we all know that the power these girls possess doesn't correspond in any way to what you've been teaching at Cloud Tower. What worries me now is what's become of Bloom.
Codatorta: And of Prince Sky. He is, by far, my best student. And the fact that he's disappeared without a trace makes me fear the worst. (continuing over shot of FG and Saladin) However, we mustn't forget that Bloom possesses extraordinary powers.
Faragonda: Yes, but they've been stolen from her.
Griffin: We all know what came of that. And yet I don't think Icy, Darcy and Stormy are satisfied. I'm afraid their next move will be absolutely ferocious.)

Saladin (over shot of Alfea building): It sounds like you're suggesting that Icy, Darcy and Stormy are descendants of the original Coven.
Faragonda: Well, that's what they told Bloom when they ambushed her in Gardenia, and took the Dragon Fire from her. It would explain their motive, and it would also explain their tremendous power.
Codatorta: But as we all know, the descendants of the Coven were banned from the schools of Magix for eternity, and no headmistress is permitted to override this rule.
Griffin (over shot of FG and Saladin): I hope you're not implying that I knowingly admitted those--
Faragonda: No one is implying anything.
Griffin: I certainly hope not. Their admission scrolls claimed they were from the realm of Miran, and yet I wondered why their parents never came to conference week.)
(Minor edit: Brandon and Stella's talk is in the same gist in both versions. And then the other fairies come in. Unedited: M: "Looks like we can't leave you alone for a minute." F: "Let's just leave the lovebirds alone..." Edited: Musa makes fun of Brandon/Stella while Flo defends them. Then again, if you see Musa and Flora's bit as a figurative record scratch in the edited, you'd probably see the unedited version as the same way too. [For the record, I always thought that bit was amusing.])
(NB: TF did NOT like Musa and friends intruding in on their romantic moment)

When you say it like this, it sounds like you disapprove meaning it must be defended on our end. Is that true?
TF: There's nothing to "defend." I don't feel my version is under attack. I simply PREFER the 4Kids version. And once again, character depth wins.
(NB: I was already sure that TF would have a reason to favor the 4Kids dub over the original, whereas once again I felt there was no point to them talking about what they got up to in their youth vs Grif being grateful to Alfea, but taking issue over even the simple use of the word "defend" to get this point across is a bit over the line IMO)
