spiderbraids3x10: Alfea Under Siege / Attack of the Zombie Witches
After the Winx girls transform:
Unedited: We get a shot of Mirta participating in the battle, followed by a shot of Stella and Layla, then Bloom putting up a shield.
Edited: We get Bloom's shield first, then the Stella and Layla shot, then Mirta fighting.
During the fighting:
Unedited: After Stella and Layla's attack knocks out a bunch of student witches, Stella and Layla notice the fighting in the forest:
S: "Layla, look. It must be Ms. Faragonda fighting in the forest."
(Layla flies off)
S: "Layla!"
L: "What?"
S: "Where are you going?"
L: "We have to do something. We can't let her face Valtor alone."
S: "We're need here. Ms. Faragonda is more than able to take care of herself!"
(Explosion from the forest)
Edited: It cuts from the result of Stella and Layla's attack to the explosion from the forest.
The Trix have Princess Galatea lead them up a staircase to Alfea's secret goodies.
Unedited: Darcy: "All the ancient secrets of Alfea will soon be ours, unless our little princess is leading us the wrong way. That'd be a royal mistake."
Edited: Darcy: "Remember freshman, you lead us to the wrong place, we'll freeze your fairy wings and pluck them right off!" (Notable because that's exactly what happens to Galatea's wings later)
The girls search for Galatea...
Unedited: Bloom says she senses something strange before Musa senses it as well.
Edited: 4Kids cuts Bloom's sensing, and starts Musa's line about her sensing it a bit sooner.
Unedited: Musa picks up Galatea's message, and we have a shot of Musa missing her earphones.
Edited: That shot has been cut out, presumably to cover up the mistake.
After Musa gets her Enchantix, we have the first time the fairy dust has been edited out, as she puts out the library fire. Also...
Unedited: We have a short scene of Musa talking with Stella and Layla about joining the Enchantix club (even getting in a comment about her wings :-)). Barbatea praises them about saving the library and Griz adds: "I too would like to thank you. Without your help, the Trix would have taken possession of all our spells. Don't let it go to your heads, but I'm proud of you." Bloom: "We didn't do anything more than the other fairies. If we won today, it's because we all worked together."
Edited: Musa's bit is cut, so it goes straight from the portal above Alfea closing to Barbatea thanking the Winx. Also, Barbatea and Griz start talking about FG going missing sooner than in the unedited. Griz: "All of Alfea did very well today, but unfortunately we cannot celebrate, because our headmistress is still missing!" Bloom: "Last we saw Miss Faragonda, she and Valtor went off in that bubble, and were fighting in the woods."
Yet another instance of 4Kids not letting the Griz give rare praise to the Winx :-\
Response from mightymarty: I think I prefer the unedited version as the lines seem more fitting. Though I do think the Trix threatening and scaring Galatea, is more the Trix's style.
