Spidersnaps: Color at my disposal
Aug. 15th, 2025 10:29 pmI had black and white in both of my cameras in June 2025, but there was one event that month I really wanted to cover in color, and with the rolls nowhere near being finished, I decided to pick up a disposable Kodak Funsaver for THB 620 (about USD19, and that was actually a discounted price), which is steep especially for 27 exposures (!) Obviously the extra money goes into the camera mechanisms, but what also makes the Funsaver different from typical box film is that Funsavers are loaded with 800 ISO film, thus making it twice as sensitive as 400 ISO film, and therefore more capable of getting pictures, as long as you hold down the flash button firmly for indoor shots that need it :-) (Although, strictly speaking, these disposables can be reloaded and even enhanced while we're at it, that's something for other more capable persons :-))

Instead of camera and film, camera packaging and camera :-)

Inflatable pit for pride month

Sound of the Northeast, slathered with birds :-) (And off centre in both cases :-\)

Repainted zebra crossing

Giant lizard under the benches

Congress by the river, including barges and new bridge construction
Rainbow-dressed statues for pride month at MBK, on my way to...

...the main reason I got the disposable :-) Atmosphere from the Thailand premiere for Elio at Siam Pawalai Cinema, featuring a telescope, photo-booth, and a Glordon plushie claw machine

Hard to make out (ISO 800 means it's also easy to overexpose), but there's a rainbow above the skytrain station

Special events at Mitrtown: An exclusive meet and greet with Thomas Teetut and Kongpob Jirojmontri for Uderma skin lotion, and besties Sky Wongrawee and Nani Hirankrit (the former already featured in my previous roll) for Shabushi Buffet (during a blind taste test :-))

Pond flowers

Outdoors activity at Central World (once formerly known as the World Trade Center, changed in 2002, apparently not for the obvious reasons, but because Central Department Store took over the premises from its previous owners)

At Central World's cinema, another Elio premiere, this time for the local dub :-) The middle picture shows Gemini Norawit taking photos with a Glordon plushie at a photo-booth, while the last one was an attempt to catch the livestreamed interview with the guest dubber Fourth Nattawat (one of Gemini's besties, apparently voicing one of antagonist Grigon's lackeys, based on this tweet)

The next day at the Central World cinema: Even at ISO 800, this shot of a couple girls waiting to meet the celebrities that are about to come watch Elio with them (and about 700 or so people) came out quite a bit under exposed (seems the flash didn't go off for this one even though I was holding the button down; looks like anything short of a firm press doesn't activate it) Anyways, the cinema often holds special "Friends Screenings" where the audience gets to take part in activities with celebrities; though whereas the Lilo and Stitch remake received five such screenings, Elio received just two :-\

Inflatable pit in action from a different angle (also note the rainbow'd-up sign)

Floor decoration using the same motif of the inflatable pit

Congress, off-center, and shot through an ad-wrapped subway train window (hence the "texture" over the picture)

Last picture to come out: A pirate-themed mural where the Inside Out 2 mural had been last year
(The shutter cocked for at least two more pictures afterwards, but only one even partially came out based on the strips I got back, and it wasn't scanned)
