First post of '07!
It was mentioned in this post that a countdown had been called off due to terrorism. Turns out that a few more were cancelled, including the Central World Countdown (which is like the Thai equivalent of the ball drop in Times Square). This was after several bombs went off around the city, and the governor had to go up on stage at Central World to announce an abrupt end to the festivities (forcing its broadcaster to air some kind of documentary in its timeslot instead).
I watched the CNN news, and there's been some speculation over the perpetrators, like the Southern terrorists, and supporters of the former PM.
We'll see how this unfolds.
(In personal news, I ate a Japanese buffet on New Year's Eve. The day before [the party], I had gone to a Japanese restaurant to celebrate. Two days of Japan in a row to end the year. Not bad eh? It was during the buffet that we learned of the explosions, BTW.)
