The Amazing Race Asia: The finale
Feb. 7th, 2007 10:54 amTo end the premiere season of TAR Asia, a trip back to Malaysia, and you'll never guess who won.
1. Beach at the Burj. Assemble puzzle to find next destination. Malaysia.
2. KL blah blah blah connecting flights blah. All landing within minutes of each other. Clue at KL Tower.
3. Fly again to Kuching in Sarawak, where we finally have actual tasks. First, we find a cat statue, and there are many, becase Kuching means cat in Malay. Then to the old courthouse.
4. Finally, a Detour: Brains (put together a bench from photos) or Brawn (carrying stuff in a market). Everyone takes the bench. JJ/Z started 3rd, finish 2nd.
5. Next stop: Sarawak Cultural Village. After finding the correct clue, hitting pineapples with blow darts.
6. After that, the Roadblock: complete some jungle rope course. JJ/Z overtake SanFran, who miss the number board, for the lead.
7. Finally, the finish line, Baku National Park. No change in standings. JJ/Z are the winners of the first TAR Asia, AND the first F/F team to win any TAR (as Allan Wu points out). 2nd are SanFran, 3rd Andrew/Syeon (who never recovered from getting lost on the way to the Cultural Village).
8. It should also be noted that the only time JJ/Z had finished a leg first before, they were penalized out of the leg win (it was the beach dig leg), so they won the race without winning any previous legs, another first.
9. Best lines: SanFran's "Sprint" "Sprint my *bleep!*" and JJ/Z's tip: "Don't waste time with make-up."
Treasure Hunters, ep 4:
1. Pretty much 40 minutes of Following the Drinking Gourd.
2. There's an opportunity for teams to reduce themselves to 2. No teams have done so yet (though there are 2 teams remaining to come to this point... yep, it's a TBC leg).
3. Meanwhile, Air Force wins 30 grand. Yawn.
4. "Hooray" for badly Photoshopped Genworth stuff. Today it says, "Match the tune to an early drinking song".
