Been a long time since I posted about TAR, so let's not waste any more time. TAR US info is in this post, next post will be TAR Asia (yes, it's back).

TAR US
12x03:
1. Yeah, so they're flying to Burkina Faso for their next leg. Just seeing them pronounce Ouagadougou is worth the price of admiddion. We get to see engine trouble in Amsterdam causing the racers to have to haul serious @$$ to make their connection in Paris to avoid falling a whole day (!) behind. Not good if you've got a hernia like Ronald. (singing) Living with a hernia...
2. Taxis. My mom watched this part with me, and she said that cabbies will usually try to charge more money for foreigners, as a cabbie charged Shana/Jennifer 5000 francs for a 3000 franc ride.
3. Train ride. Their stop is called (believe it or not) Bingo. And it's in the middle of nowhere, and you have to listen for the conductor guy call out the stop. Kinda like riding the bus here actually. AND it's an extra bunch point, since the train doesn't leave until the next day.
4. My mom pointed out the obvious during the camel milking Roadblock: that making noises doesn't exactly encourage milk producing.
5. TK and Rachel leading the camels in the wrong direction, and other teams folllowing. Hee.
6. Didn't catch the rest of the episode, but caught up via recaps: Detour involved teaching 10 words of English or learning 10 words of More'. Hendekea and Azaria took learning and split the words among themselves, and that logical approach gave them first. Lorena bled so much time trying to milk camels, that she was very lucky not to be eliminated, especially since Marianna and Julia recommended Lorena on how to milk a camel... and, after taking the clue's advice on how to lead the camels a bit too literally, THEY ended up getting elimmed. Meh.

12x04:
1. It's an all Burkina Faso leg, with the premiere of the U-Turn. But first, everyone's getting a chicken to carry to the pit stop.
2. Detour! Shake your booty or shake your pan. Booty involves dancing to a panel of judges, pan involves panning for some placed gold nuggets. We got to see Lorena and Jason making the obvious American Idol joke.
3. And now, the U-Turn. Basically, a team can make some other team have to do the other Detour. In this case, Shana and Jennifer made Lorena and Jason do the gold panning as well. It's totally like the Yield. (Opinions are mixed on whether this was okay. It's either "L/J were so far behind already" or "If you can put yourself further ahead of last, it's good.")
4. After the U-Turn, back to Ouagadougou, and time for some juggling according to the Roadblock teaser. Actually, it's putting lots of goods to deliver on a bike. Culture shock for Shana... because she doesn't speak French. Heh.
5. Now, the pit stop. Nathan/Jennifer thought that Hendekea/Azaria already had enough turns to be first. But Team Katrina didn't care, as Azaria rushed straight to the mat to beat N/J by a couple seconds (Hendekea was already on the mat). Greatest foot race ever? Well, it would rank high... And coming in last for elimination: Lorena and Jason.

12x05:
1. On to Lithuania, and once again, problems with pronouncing the city name (Vilnius). There's also the blondes arguing about using the U-Turn. Dude. (Meanwhile, this gem from Donald: "Let's go to the internet buffet.")
2. Hello, overhyped scene from the trailers with the blondes seeing a bus rushing towards them. Hello, bus braking several feet ahead of the intersection. Blah.
3. St. Anne's church and the Roadblock, with delivering goods to someone in the university square, and then being directed to either a salon or some other places. Those who got the salon had problems finding it.
4. Next, a trip to some outdoor museum with a hard to pronounce name to find a Travelocity gnome, because (they say) Lithuania is the land of gnomes. Whatever.
5. Outdoor festival, and a Detour. It's between walking stilts or counting fence posts. We have the Goths feeling right at home with all those costumed people while doing the counting.
6. Stilts. Not the best thing to do if you've got a hernia, but it still beats getting schooled on counting fence posts. (Yeah, some people said that's what Ron was going to do.) Speaking of counting fence posts, Nathan's Jennifer provided us with this gem: "87, 88, 89, 100." Shades of Bolo, anyone?
7. Pit stop is at a windmill. TK/Rachel beat the Goths to first place, while the blondes, having bled so much time getting to St. Anne's, got elimmed.
8. Last thought: Vyxsin's 'do is starting to look a whole lot like Tecna's.
