In honor of April Fool's Day...
Apr. 1st, 2008 08:36 amhere's the greatest televised AFD prank of all time, courtesy of YouTube's aidanbrooks.
51 years ago today, the BBC convinced quite a few British that spaghetti grew on trees, by showing a report on a spaghetti harvest on Panorama (a famous investigative news show). You have to understand that back then, spaghetti wasn't as widely available as it is now, so it was possible to trick a few gullible people into believing this (the fact that the Beeb were a highly-respected news source even then also helped).
If you know your AFD history, you've probably heard of this prank before. Now, you can enjoy the actual footage.

(I actually stumbled across this better-quality version on the day; before then all I could find was really small-sized versions sourced from lesser-quality RealPlayer clips.)
