Highlights of Sunday's Emmycast

So last night, I watched the Primetime Emmy Awards. Yeah, like most of you I bet.
Highlights...
1. The opening bit, replete with song and dance.
2. Bob Newhart in a box!
3. Trying to recognize the people in the "In Memoriam" segment. I knew Philo Farnsworth's name (thought this was the wife), recognized Don "Get Smart" Adams, Pat "Miyagi" Morita, and John "West Wing" Spencer. I didn't know Al Lewis, but recognized the role (Grandpa Munster). Same deal with Clarabelle (famous for saying the last ever words on Howdy Doody, with his only words of the entire run!).
4. Speaking of dead people, nice tribute to Aaron there. He produced a lot. Even if his last few shows (7th Heaven and Charmed) weren't exactly the best.
5. Colbert's rant on losing to Manilow!
6. The nominee name-dropping in the Variety Show writing category (thought somehow, Real Time decided to just play it straight).
7. Garcia deriding a few people in his speech.
8. Speaking of speeches, the fact everyone seemed to run through their speeches like Ellen Burstyn. With speeches these short, who needs Segways? Not that Meloni wasn't a highlight...
9. Emmy presentation a la Deal or No Deal, followed by the awkwardness of giving Horvitz an Emmy while he's directing the very show.
10. The Ernst and Young accountants... and Kareem Abdul Jabar.
11. DICK CLARK!
Other things:
1. Conan speaking Spanish and Hugh speaking French. I'd like it better if I actually understood what the heck they were saying...
2. The Sheens step on Conan's father-son nominations set-up. Moral: If you're doing a joke, don't drop the names of the next presenters before the punchline.
3. Does NBC have to remind us every break that NBC is airing the Emmys this year? Some of us (like ME!) aren't even in America. Conan's brief mention was enough IMO.
4. Seriously dudes. What's with the iPod bit?
