Once again, in the run up to the next Nick special, here's a 4-part summary for the second special. Due to the first special delaying Bloom's first transformation until the events of episode 10, there will be quite a bit of backtracking going on.

It is a dark and stormy night at Alfea, as we backtrack to episode 9. Bloom is having her dream involving the glowing lady again. Glowing lady: "Bloom, can you hear me?" Bloom: "Yes, I hear you." GL: "We meet again my little one." This time, Bloom is in her fairy outfit: "Where am I? This isn't Alfea college!" GL: "I know, and we don't have much time." Bloom: "Time for what? Who are you?" GL: "I am Daphne. Listen carefully Bloom: You must find me." Bloom: "You are a dream." Daphne: "I am real Bloom." Bloom gasps as Daphne continues: "Search for me Bloom, and you will find me." Bloom: "I will find you... I... I will find you... Daphne... Daphne I will find you... Daphne!" We cut back to Bloom in her bed, and she changes from her fairy outfit back into her PJs... which look a bit too fancy for sleepwear. We skip Stella and Flora looking on her having this dream.

Next morning, and Bloom's blabbing about her dream to the other Winx: "No, it wasn't a nightmare." Tec: "Try to give me more details." Bloom: "It's hard to explain, but it was a lot more vivid than a dream." Tec has what looks like a big powder compact in her hand. It opens to reveal some circuits and a robo-ladybug. Tec: "Hmm... mm-hmm. Go on." Tec is having her ladybug swirl around Bloom. Bloom: "There was a woman. She was calling to me." Tec: "There is a strong possibility that that was a psychomagic message." Bloom: "Are you saying that she was trying to communicate with me?" Tec: "Through your dream. Yes." She returns her ladybug to her "compact" and continues: "From the memory wave she left in your cortex, I came up with this." The "compact" shows a projection of Daphne. "So, what do you think? Is it her?" Bloom: "It is. Daphne." Tec: "You know her name?" Bloom: "And I've seen her somewhere, it was outside of my dreams. Of course! Now I remember: I was in the main square in Magix City, but she wasn't part of the crowd... she was on... the facade of a large building. And she was looking at me." Stella: "She is real, so look her up in the library." We skip anything to do with Stella teeing off her fellow Winx.

Library. Bloom: "I'll ask the library to do a search." She walks over to a butterfly-shaped search apparatus and says: "Daphne." A book comes to her. Bloom: "That was really fast, faster than the internet." She looks through the book: "Let's see... Daphne. No, I don't want to know what it means, I want to know about a fairy named Daphne." She does a search on "Daphne the fairy" and gets a couple more books: "Hey, look at all this stuff. Okay, Daphne... here she is! Wow... Princess of Domino and one of the Supreme Nymphs of Magix? Daphne, the Nymph of Magix." Bloom soon finds herself caught in a tornado of books, and that's not an exaggeration. Thankfully it comes to a stop as Faragonda comes in. FG: "I'd say the library's research system needs a complete overhaul." Bloom: "Miss Faragonda!" FG: "It's okay Bloom, it's all over. Feeling better?" Bloom: "I think so." FG: "Good. You can go then. You can do your research another time." Bloom leaves: "Thank you Miss Faragonda." FG goes to pick up one of the books, but it seems she doesn't like what she sees: "Daphne the nymph... Miss Barbatea..." Barbatea is a bespectacled librarian with puffy purple hair: "Yes?" FG: "Put the books back in the stacks and close the library." B: "Yes of course... Close the library?" FG: "Yes, and don't use magic. After what's happened, you never know." B: "No magic?" FG: "There are powerful forces at work here, Barbatea." Ooh!

Remember Darcy taking a look at Riven while searching Alfea for a ceratin magical energy? Well, we get what looks like establishing shots for the Black Lagoon (Stella's date from the original episode 5) for the witches' non-CT hangout, where Darcy is meeting up with Riven: "I've been thinking about you Riven. Your talent, your amibition, your courage are wasted with the Specialists. I know you want more. My sisters and I can make you powerful." Riven seems interested: "Go on." Darcy: "We just wanna know that you wanna be with us, and that we can... count on you to tell us all about those stinking fairies!" With that, Darcy casts her spell on Riven.

Redundant VO: "The next morning at Alfea College for Fairies..." We briefly backtrack to episode 8, as we see Bloom in her rather fancy PJs, as Flora has packed her bags. Bloom: "Flora? You're already packed?" Flora: "I thought I'd leave a little early. I can't wait to get home and see my family. I feel like I've been gone forever." Tecna: "Although your statement is emotional, I must agree." Bloom: "Me too." Stella: "See you back here in a couple of weeks guys." Musa: "Enjoy spring break."

And moving on to episode 13, we're back in Gardenia, where Bloom is riding her bike. Without a helmet. Without holding the handlebars. The parents won't approve of that ;-) Thankfully, she puts her hands back on the handlebars to hit the brakes, as Mike (Bloom's dad) drives up in his firetruck: "Hey there sunshine!" Bloom: "Hi daddy!" Other guy in truck: "Hi Bloom." Bloom: "Hi." Mike: "Headed up for the stop then? I'll see you at dinner." Bloom: "Yeah, have a good day!"

Street corner. Bloom: "I'm so happy to be home mom." Vanessa: "I'm so glad you're back, and you're sweet to help me around at the shop." Vanessa is the owner of a flower shop, and due to time constraints, instead of using the original episode's plot, we take a brief detour into episode 18 as we find her dealing with a customer: "Sorry Mrs. Jeeves, but I think I'm out of them." Bloom is sitting near a bouquet with blue flowers, which she turns pink with her magic: "Hey mom... we do have some. Here you go." Mrs. Jeeves: "Oh, thank you." Vanessa: "It's nice having an assistant with a, um, magic touch." :-) Bloom: "I'm so happy to be home." Back to episode 13, and we get a really quick musical montage of Bloom doing stuff with her family: Walking with her mom in the park, waving to her parents, chasing Kiko in her bedroom, taking in a film with her parents, playing hide and seek with Kiko, eating pizza with her parents, and waving her fork around.

We see Bloom in her bed at night. We see her parents looking on. We pan from Bloom to outside, before we fade to later that night. We see her flipping around in bed. In her dream, she has a vision of her father entering a burning building and rescuing a baby, saying "Come on little one. Don't be afraid, I got ya." The original context of this sequence has to do with the plot of the original episode, but anyways, Bloom wakes up screaming "Fire!" prompting her parents to come in. Vanessa: "Bloom! What's the matter?" Mike: "Did you have a bad dream? Don't be afraid, I got ya." Bloom: "I dreamt I saw you rescue a baby from a fire, and you said that same thing, 'Don't be afraid, I got ya'. Who was that baby?" Vanessa doesn't seem ready to talk about it now, while Mike says, "Try and go back to sleep. We'll talk in the morning." We see a tear stream down Bloom's face.

Next morning, Bloom talks about her dream: "It wasn't just a dream, was it? It happened. It happened to me. I need to know the truth. Tell me the truth." Awk-ward. Mike: "Vanessa?" Vanessa: "Yes, Mike. I think it's time to tell Bloom. She needs to know." Bloom: "Know... what?" Mike: "Everything. That baby you saw... That baby was you." Bloom gasps as Mike continues: "16 years ago, I saved you from a fire." Bloom: "A fire? What was I doing in a fire?" Vanessa: "We have no idea. Your father found you there." Mike: "It was a miracle. The whole place was under flames, but... the fire didn't touch you, it protected you. I don't know how you got in that building. You were all alone, but you weren't afraid." Vanessa: "There was something magical about you Bloom." The realization sinks in for Bloom: "But... that means, that I'm not your daughter." Vanessa: "Bloom..." Bloom: "You adopted me. Why... why didn't you ever tell me?" Mike: "We were going to Bloom. We were always planning to tell you the truth just as soon as we thought you were old enough to understand." (To paraphrase Bloom from the first episode/special: How old is old enough? She's already 16...) "But then everything... changed: Fairies, ogres, magic schools, I mean everything became so crazy and then all of a sudden, we were just too late." Vanessa: "We never meant to deceive you Bloom. you are the most important thing to us. You are everything to us. We loved you from the first moment we saw you, and we'll never stop." Mike: "You'll always be our daughter." Bloom kisses her dad on the cheek as the picture of the family goes silhouette: "Yes, always. I love you dad."

Back at Alfea, we get an original scene of students returning to school. We see two random students talking: "How was your vacation?" "It was great, but too short." :-D We enter Bloom's dorm through an opening window, and we see Bloom thinking about her life, as a musical montage of pictures of her growing up, from the crib, to her first birthday, getting a Christmas present, going to school, going to the park, going to the same old beach, roller skating, and finding Kiko.

The Winx are at the side of her bed. Flo: "Don't be sad Bloom. I know it must be a shock but remember, your parents chose you." Tec: "They love you." Musa: "So in a way, nothing's really changed." Bloom: "I know, but now I have so many questions." Stella: "Questions? About what?" Bloom: "I am a fairy, so how did I end up on good ol' non-magical Earth? And that's not all, who are my birth parents? Is that why I got my powers?" Tec: "You're right, that is a lot of questions." Flo: "Are you sure you want to know the answers?" Bloom: "I have to know who I am. Winx, will you help me?" Flo: "Of course." Stella: "Absolutely!" Tec: "I am right there." Musa: "You have our word." Stella: "You can count on us. Right Winx?" Everyone places their right hand on top of each other's: "Right! / Yeah!" We see the girls hug, how cute :-)

I have to say, this segment is a pretty good distillation of the plot points they have to get across in the given time. I suppose that a newcomer probably wouldn't even notice the backtracking, or the original plotlines being tossed aside.

Next: Mirta.
