Ep 4
1. This week, Turin, Italy, prompting Bopper(/Mark) to say "We is going somewhere tropical" :-D We have a confessional with Bopper talking about his daughter having respiratory issues. Since I haven't brought them up yet, I will also mention that Kerri/Stacy (cousins from Mississippi) scream like little girls when they open their clue for Turin. Mark/Bopper go to the airport, presumably under the assumption they can buy their tix there. Art/JJ redirect them back to a travel agent, where everyone buys their tix, and as it happens, M/B end up getting in 75 minutes behind everyone else (!)
2. Turin, and everyone gets to drive Ford Focuses (brought to you by Ford :-)) to the Lingotto building (M/B call it the Linguito building), where we have a rappelling Roadblock... and a Fast Forward involving landing a (model) helicopter on to (a helmet-mounted model of) the building. Art/JJ take this one (producing this quote: "It's all you, you crazy monkey" :-D), and although former helicopter pilot Dave(/Rachel) briefly considers going for it as well (which would've made it the first time more than one team has ever competed for the Fast Forward in, well, forever), the other teams have a player rappel down a building to grab a clue (though it takes a few racers more than one attempt to get the "swing" of things ;-))
3. Next stop, the national automobile museum, where (here comes product placement!) teams park their cars using the new Ford Focus' active park feature, which automatically parks the car in an available space... which also gives Brendon/Rachel a bit more free time to argue with each other (blech!) Everyone looks for a 1916 Tin Lizzie to find their next clue, in the form of a 2 euro-cent piece, with a picture of the Mole Antonelliana tower. In other news, racers run into a bunch of Santas (no, seriously; not with their cars though).
4. Ralph/Vanessa manage to get another use of their Ford's active parking feature outside the Mole Antonelliana as we get a Detour between washing a statue and tasting and memorizing 14 different kinds of salami. Obviously, statues are the better choice (Vanessa even quips "I haven't had that much salami since high school" :-D), and yet we have Kerry/Stacy and Brendon/Rachel (oh boy) taking on the salami. Cue B/R getting frustrated and threatening to quit :-P Meanwhile, other teams end up knocking the heads off of statues with high-powered water guns, prompting at least one team to making a double-entendre-laced comment about polishing the head :-D
5. Pit stop at some piazza, with Art/JJ riding the FF all the way to the win and $5,000 each. Salami teams B/R (Rachel: "DiGiorno!" :-D) and K/S come in 6th and 7th respectively, and they're probably not in last only because (you guessed it) M/B started this leg 75 minutes behind everyone else. After M/B check in last, they get two pieces of good news: Art/JJ are splitting their prize with them because of Bopper's daughter's health issues, and this is a non-elimination. Ain't that heartwarming? :-)

Ep 5
1. Next stop, Bavaria by train. Kerri/Stacy let out a "Mamma mia" :-) while Joey/Danny wear silly hats :-D We also find out that Ralph's been divorced three times and Vanessa once. Anyways, after a couple bunch-ups at a connection in Innsbruck, first stop is some restaurant with more product placement: the Travelocity gnomes, and a Detour between styling beards (and their styles are very bizarre, might I add) and using a basket to gather gingerbread pieces and using them to make a gingerbread house roof a la Hansel and Gretel (they kinda got it backwards don't you think? ;-)) Speed Bump for Mark/Bopper: Yodeling :-D On the way to the gingerbread Detour, Rachel confuses Bavaria with Bolivia :-D
2. Art/JJ especially excel at the beard styling :-) while Rachel/Dave throw in a mohawk for their "customer" :-D Vanessa also brags about benefiting from taking her time doing her hair :-) and Joey/Danny joke about taking their "customer" out to the club afterwards and inviting him for beer :-D At the gingerbread Detour, team BB and K/S manage to run in the wrong direction looking for their baskets, allowing M/B to get their basket first. This Detour also has a witch stirring a cauldron as the "judge", who in M/B's words is "as ugly as a mud rail fence" :-D
3. Next stop, Ludwig II's bedroom at the castle that inspired the Sleeping Beauty castle, which would be this one. There's also another castle nearby, and R/D and Nary/Jamie even go as far as go on the guided tour before being told about their mistake (M/B and K/S also go there, but they get their errors pointed out before the tour). Ralph/Vanessa bicker on their way up to the right castle (Vanessa: "Congratulations, you just made YouTube" :-P), while Danny has his fairy tales all Tangled up ;-) as he thinks that Sleeping Beauty was the one who let her hair down :-D In more serious news, though, M/B are in last place, and Bopper struggles with the climb all the way up to Ludwig's bedroom :-\
4. Next, some place with 77 consonants in a row (tm Art/JJ): An ice hockey and curling arena in Fussen, for a Roadblock: "Who's ready to put it on ice?" In this case, it's sliding Travelocity gnomes on to a bull's eye. It's actually a traditional sport with a different name, but for their intents and purposes, it's curling. Most teams get their gnome on target with a straight throw, while Ralph/Vanessa and Rachel/Dave knock their gnome in.
5. Pit stop at a farm, and Art/JJ get their 3rd first in a row, and a trip to Ko Samui. Back at curling, Mark makes short work of curling to move right past N/J and K/S, who have taken at least 160 and 60 slides on the Roadblock, to take 6th place. K/S finish before N/J, but N/J hope to overtake K/S on navigation, and since K/S can only just about navigate themselves to the mall (their own words from earlier in the leg), N/J out-navigate K/S to avoid elimination.

Ep 6
1. This week, a new country for TAR as they're heading to Azerbaijan. Many teams butcher that name in various ways, and M/B think it's in Africa :-D Everyone gets bunched on a single overnight flight, and then gets bunched again at a temple (replete with traditional dancing!) until sunrise. For the first time in who knows how long, we have a 2nd FF on the race: stacking hay into a neat 3x5x10 pile, and for the first time in forever, we have two teams going for it: Rachel/Dave and Joey/Danny. Everyone else gets a Roadblock at some training facility: "What goes down must come up." And that task is to escape from a simulated upside-down crashed helicopter. On the way, we get cab races (described by one contestant as "crazier than Nascar") and Mark puking in a bag :-P
2. At the haystack task, Dave's accurate bale throwing helps R/D beat J/D (who were so confident that they wouldn't lose to a girl :-P), sending J/D to the Roadblock. (Interestingly enough, it means that the former helicopter pilot ends up missing two helicopter-related tasks in the space of three legs [!]) After completing the helicopter task, everyone else goes to a carpet shop, where for some reason, Ralph/Vanessa look for their clue in the wrong places :-D
3. We have a Detour between oil and apples. Apples involves searching through a car full of apples to find one marked with the flag. The oil task veers into "not making this up" territory, as it involves non-racers bathing in oil, the crude kind (for health [!]) and the racers scraping off the oil with shoehorns. Once again, we have an obviously better choice with the oil, and Art/JJ compare their oil-covered guy to being covered in Nutella (mmm, Nutella...) and talk about having to clean oil off a guy's junk :-D (thankfully covered with bathing shorts) At the apples detour (which many teams actually do call a needle in a haystack... savvy fans, perhaps?), Vanessa/Ralph repeatedly say "Cheese and crackers" (seriously?) and J/D make the flimsy justification that they're from the Big Apple to choose this Detour (seriously?)
4. Pit stop is at some esplanade, and R/D "can smell Phil's cologne" :-D before claiming 1st place, and two cars (from Ford, of course). Some time later, Art/JJ call their 2nd place as good as a win due to the FF, while J/D get eliminated. In spite of the circumstances behind their elimination, they consider 6 legs a good run for two guys from Long Island (especially since they only survived leg one because of Misa/Maiya running in the wrong direction, though they probably don't know about that at the time), and sign off with "Joey Fitness and Danny H, coming soon to a nightclub near you" :-D
