Blast from the Past: China 2010 (Part 2)

Yesterday, I covered the "getting to China" part in my pictures. Today, pictures from the rest of the trip :-)


Whereas we had an international dinner our first night in, breakfast was strictly Chinese: Rice, boiled egg, soymilk, spring rolls :-)


Free day in Sanya, where we ended up heading to Xi Dao (West Islet)

We actually originally intended to go to the Kuan Yin statue we saw on approach, but roadworks shut down the road beyond the port to Xi Dao




In the evening, a meal at a local restaurant closer to Sanya main town


The purpose of our trip to Sanya: To attend a conference... at which I presented one of my own papers :-) (improved color and contrast)


Sanya is known as China's Hawaii, a tropical retreat for locals. Check out all the people lounging around in beach shorts :-)


Well, time to head back... Lunch at the Sanya Airport: Hotdog, sandwich, and pitaya slices


Time to head home...



...and back through Baiyun once more :-)
