With my B&W stockpile running out after using the Bergger Pancro, I grabbed myself a rerolled cinefilm from my local lab: Double X (aka Kodak 5222), for my Kodak H35, for the price of THB235 (USD 8) :-) Unlike other cinefilm, remjet is not an issue for the lab to develop, since each B&W roll has to be done individually anyway... Double X was introduced in 1959, and was used by Christopher Nolan (and in a custom format at that!) to shoot his Oscar-winning opus Oppenheimer :-) According to Casual Photophile, it "does not have the same crazy latitude we've come to expect from modern films. It can only really handle about one and a half stops of underexposure and one and a half stops of overexposure before shadows start to look like ink stains and highlights start to wash out." And it's also nominally ISO 200, so not the best film to use in a camera without any controls other than flash, and indeed quite a few shots show up the blown highlights, but it's part of the fun of film ;-)

Camera and film

Bird on a roof

Street near my house

Canal near my house, looking a bit underexposed

Another attempt to take a photo of the Instamatic in the glass display

Cat and bench near my house

Congress, and this one here shows up Double X's propensity for blown highlights

Same for this shot from the local mall balcony...

...And this shot of the school construction site cranes (and this is even with the red filter I used with the Retro 400S)

Stone war monument

Street inside the uni

Swimming action at the uni personnel games

Black cat at the sports complex

Beach volleyball

Lone man sitting near some sort of activity for student matchmaking, taken around Valentine's

Buddha statue, with the lighting tempered a little bit by clouds

Lamppost bird

Tree

Chamchuri Square building

Uni entrance

Swap meet

Prep for a special evening mini concert (with filter, then without)

Lizard lounging at the pond

Somewhat visible badminton action

Very visible volleyball smashing action

Basketball

Another local mall balcony view

Siam Square, with a somewhat blown-out sky (Plus crop)

Bird on a powerline

Sound of the Northeast

Kitty toys owned by a colleague

Table tennis action

Chairball practice (see previous Spidersnaps post for explanation)

Takraw with hoops

Board games

Uni photo lab, now with flowers for sale

Tree shot, also showing up the film's somewhat narrow latitude with a blown-out sky and dark shadows under the trees

Exhibition featuring images used for the uni's 2024 calendar... generated with state of the art AI, captured with ancient tech from 1959 :-) Also note the different results between the CUDSON (facing the sun) and ChatGPT (facing away) pictures

Statue at the new garden

Cut down tree, more specifically, one of the trees shot with Vision 250D

Adult Playground

Aerobics action (fittingly enough, shot on Leap Day ;-))

Petanque (French version of lawn bowls) action

Crow in tree

Finishing the roll with an underexposed attempt use the red filter to show contrast between the pink petals falling from a flowering tree and the green grass
